The Data Entry Process
At Saral, we have made the Karyakarta data entry process simple and user-friendly. Here’s how it works step-by-step:
Step 1: Website Login
Users need to visit the Saral website at saral.bjp.org.
They can log in by entering their mobile number and verifying it through an OTP (One-Time Password). Once logged in, they can start the data entry process.
Step 2: Starting Data Entry
After logging in:
- Go to the Data Entry section.
- Choose Sangathan / Abhiyan Data Enrty
- Choose the Level based on where Karyakarta needs to be entered.
- Select the appropriate Unit, Sub-Unit, and Designation.
- Enter Karyakarta’s mobile number.
If the Karyakarta already exists in our database (holding any previous designation), their pre-filled details will appear. Users can simply select the record and add or update a new designation without having to re-enter all information.
If Karyakarta is not already entered in our system with that number, an option to add a new fresh entry will appear.
Step 3: Customizable Forms and Field Settings
The Saral platform divides the data entry form into two parts:
- Primary Fields (essential information)

- Secondary Fields (additional details)

We can customize which fields appear based on the requirements of each state and level. We can manage data collection forms separately for the web and mobile apps.
While some fields are mandatory by default like Name, Mobile Number, and Designation, Other fields can be added as mandatory or non-mandatory according to the stakeholders needs.
To ensure clean and accurate data, Saral applies several backend validations:
- Name must have at least 2 characters.
- Phone Number must be exactly 10 digits and start with 6, 7, 8, or 9.
- Age must be between 18 and 123.
- Pincode must be exactly 6 digits.
These validations help maintain the quality and reliability of our database.
Even after submission, if users have the necessary permissions, they can edit or delete the entries as needed.
Step 5: Call Center Verification
If any Karyakarta data remains unverified after entry, our call center team reaches out to the individual through a phone call and verifies the details manually.
Step 6: Data Access and Management
Once the data entry is completed, the information is available on the Saral portal.
Depending on user permissions, they can:
- Download (through the permission-saral user can download the data)
- Delete any incorrect entries.
- Update (existing karyakarta information)
- Read (view the data without making any changes)
- ViewDeletedData (with date filter user can Read or download the deleted data as well)
All actions are permission-based, ensuring secure access and control.
